Work / The Royal Mint / Annual Sets 2021
The Royal Mint release an Annual Set of coins each year, with 2021 celebrating Sir Walter Scott, John Logie Baird, H.G. Wells, Decimal Day and Her Majesty The Queen's 95th birthday.
Our challenge was to create video content that tied these individual stories together.
Tying five individual and disparate coin designs into a single narrative is always a challenge.
With the primary story from the outset being impact, we set about developing a concept that showed the people and occassions marked on this year's coins through one person's life.
We reversed the anniversaries, allowing us to commence with the birth of the Queen in 1926 and introduce the other designs throughout the decades.
With changes to the concept as result of filming restrictions during COVID-19, we focused on the individual and followed the impact of these milestones on a single persons life, from 1926 to 2021.
The Royal Mint's Great Engravers Collection continued with The Three Graces, one of the world's most sought-after coin designs.
Over the years we've produced a number of films for Britannia. In 2020 we fused three artist's disciplines, celebrating creative spirit.
We captured the process of bringing the infamous Una & The Lion design back into the light through the largest coin ever produced.
